The Highland Park Community Nursery School and Day Care Center, affectionately known as “Community” was founded in 1951 by Martha Struve Freeman to provide high-quality, affordable, licensed, early childhood education and care to children 2 to 5.
At “Community”, we believe every child deserves to thrive. Our mission is to provide a safe, caring and enriching environment where:
Children and families are nurtured and supported and diversity is celebrated.
Each child’s individual emotional, social, cognitive and physical development is fostered by a skilled and loving staff.
Play is valued and natural curiosity is encouraged.
Interpersonal relationships and collaboration are emphasized and seen as avenues for growth and trust.
Jen and Lisa discussed the transition of school this past November moving into their new location on 640 Ridge Road Highland Park, from the Karger Center downtown HP. The brand new manufactured buildings came at a much needed time and the kids are now settled into their new location which now feels “like home”.
